New Jersey Romance Writers Conference

Steampunk? You want me to dress up in a costume for a kick-off party? That was my first reaction to learning the 2017 New Jersey Romance Writers Put Your Heart in a Book Conference was changing its format a bit and adding a party to Friday night, traditionally reserved for the awards ceremony. So after hearing the buzz of attendees ordering costumes online, I finally asked the question. What exactly is Steampunk?
Here we are dressed in our versions of Steampunk.
First is me, Elizabeth John. Then my friends, Monique Parrett and Anne Carrole.

The party was a blast! Photo Booth, dancing, refreshments, and of course a glass of wine for me!
Friday was jammed packed with fabulous workshops, the Pub Retreat, luncheon with friends, and dinner with my editor and fellow Soul Mate authors. By the time I crawled into bed, I fell right into dreamland.
No sleeping in the next morning! More workshops, networking, breakfast and luncheon speakers, and later that night, the Golden Leaf and Put Your
Heart in a Book Awards Ceremony!

Nancy Herkness and My Luncheon Table

I usually get a late check out on Sunday, but for the first time, I attended the Hearts and Sparks Brunch where I got to meet romance readers and bloggers. What fun to meet so many people who like to read romances as much as I do!
Here I am with my friend Roni Denholtz, and those are some of the goodies I brought for the attendees.

I love attending the conference each year. Besides catching up with friends and making new ones, learning the latest buzz in the industry, and of course bringing home lots of books, I always return home inspired to write. Can’t wait for next year!

This post is a little late, but I always say, better late than never!  I hope you enjoyed it!
